Sarah prioritized herself for a change:

“I was excited and ready to see growth in my business, but the magnitude of the task to overhaul things was completely overwhelming. I was constantly changing my service breakdown, in an attempt to find balance between what I enjoy and do well, versus what clients were looking for. I was lacking the confidence to forge ahead.

If you've ever seen a dog chasing its tail, that was me. Focused on the perfect service mix, missing the mark, and skipping over marketing strategy. I had overcomplicated things, confused myself, and wound up going the extra mile for clients at my own expense.

I was constantly making seemingly small investments and getting small results.

It was predictable but less intimidating. Adding up those small investments, the shocking total has lackluster results. It was time to for a better option.

Krista has a tremendous amount of experience in the wedding industry, as an entrepreneur and a Mom Boss—she's not a one-trick pony. Which means that she offers coaching with more insight and a better understanding of how all of these things work together. I was familiar with Krista’s work as a wedding planner and had been learning from her in other ways for years, so I was super confident in her expertise. My issue was spending the money, after nearly two years basically shut down. Spoiler alert, I decided to invest in my business and I have no regrets!

I was surprised to realize that I needed permission to prioritize myself—in my own business. Krista doesn't come in and tell you how to create her business, she supports you in developing your own—which is awesome.

As a planner with over 8 years of experience, my business is already alive—but it wasn't really reflecting my needs and wants. Now I get up each day excited to reclaim the business I dreamed of, with Krista's voice guiding and cheering me on. As we move into fall and the weddings slow down, I have carefully mapped out a plan to re-launch my brand.

The biggest takeaway was to always consider what makes it worthwhile for me. Offering a service that I really don't love? Stop. Feeling a little bitter about doing a wedding on a holiday weekend? Make sure I know how much I would need to make to feel okay with that and charge it! Krista has really solidified for me that I need to take ownership of my business.

I'm starting to say no to the clients who are not a great fit for me. Thinking ahead and making intentional choices about when I will book clients and what direction this business is taking.”
