Words Of Wisdom For Couples Amid The Pandemic
Wedding days are full of hiccups.
Granted, COVID-19 is not exactly a "hiccup". But I'll tell all of you having to postpone your wedding day the same thing I’ve told my clients for the last eight years as we talk through potential wedding day issues, big and small:
Don't let a bump in the road derail your day.
Easier said than done. I know. But hear me out. ⠀
⠀
Whether it rains, and we opt for your plan B ceremony site, or the limo gets stuck in traffic, or crazy uncle Bill shows up with an uninvited and ungracious plus one, or the strap on your $4000 gown pops ... at the end of the day,
The most important thing is that it's about you two being married.
If the ceremony happens, and the papers get signed, we had a wedding.
It might not happen on the day you had circled for so long on the calendar.
There might be a few smiling faces missing.
It might cost a little bit more.
But when it finally happens, know that it will be a celebration and it will be that much sweeter because everyone will be overjoyed to be together again.
Don't spend that day moping about how it should have been this way or that, this day, with this detail.
Eyes on the prize: Your partner for life at the end of the aisle.
Followed by one hell of a party. ⠀
