Trouvaille Workshop Recap | Part Two

Trouvaille workshop - images by Bradley James Photography

Continued from Part One.

Getting to know all the attendees at Trouvaille Workshop and hearing about how they do business, at different stages in growth, as well as in different regions was really interesting. I made some great friends that I'm enjoying keeping in touch with.

In addition, hearing so many different kinds of vendors speak and share about their business was incredibly valuable.

It's hard to pick a favourite part, but the hands-on sessions were absolutely amazing.

Day Two Continued:

After a yummy lunch we returned to the "classroom" for an interactive tablescape session with Rhiannon and Robyn Allison of The Rental Company.

We worked in teams - picking everything from flatware, glassware, chairs, flowers, linens and more from a huge smorgasbord - to design different tablescapes. Once everyone was finished, we reviewed each table to discuss design, pricing strategies and variations for different budgets.

We were greeted after the break by our favourite Starbucks treats, complete with a custom monogrammed drink cozies from Oatmeal Lace Designs. Then Robyn shared more about working with event rental companies.

Day Three:

Breakfast on Tuesday morning was bright and early! We were greeted in the Pinnacle Room by more gifts, of course, t-shirts by Cake For Breakfast

The first session of the morning was Katy Carrier from Law For Creatives. Of course the room had been changed again, this time with square tables and gold sequin linens.

Things were rolling along, so we ate our picnic lunches at our tables while listening to Sam and Brad of Bradley James Photography, talking about a cohesive wedding team.

I have to say, since I usually leave wedding flowers up to local talented florists, I was very curious about the afternoon session and whether I would enjoy it. But, I'm so happy to say it was informative and exciting. Things started off with Van's Floral Products and Supply, explaining all things floral wholesale.

I came across Bows and Arrows way back, probably while falling down a Pinterest rabbit hole, but it wasn't until her session began that I realized I had a huge girl crush on her. Seeing Alicia and Rhiannon work away processing and arranging flowers was a truly inspiring.

Next, we were let loose on the "flower market" and began designing our own arrangements. I quickly realized that this can get messy, fast.

Upon completing our arrangements, we were let loose on the tablescapes from the day before to play and design, and paused for headshots by Sam and Brad, with our finished products.

My first floral arrangement ever!

This hardly scratches the surface of how much fun was hard, or how informative these three days of absolute joy were. I won't soon forget my trip to Trouvaille or all the lovely people I met there.

I would love to share every single picture with you, but you can catch more on Hey Gorgeous, or the Little Black Book feature
